The Virginia Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (VASCD) extends an invitation to all division superintendents, principals, assistant principals, teachers, and instructional leaders to attend the 2011 Annual VASCD conference entitled Moving Forward: The Evolving Teacher, Learner, and Leader. The conference will be held November 30 - December 2, 2011, at the Williamsburg Marriott, Williamsburg, Virginia.
On November 30, 2011, Jim Knight, author of Unmistakable Impact: A Partnership Approach to Dramatically Improving Instruction, will facilitate a full-day preconference, focused on “Creating An Impact School: Professional Learning That Makes A Difference.”
On December 1 and 2, attendees will hear keynote presentations from David Houle, “Shift Ed: A Call to Action for Transforming K-12 Education”; Chris Lehmann, “Building School 2.0: Creating the Schools We Need”; Yong Zhao, “Students as Global Entrepreneurs: A New Education Paradigm for the Age of Globalization”; and Michael Fullan, author of Change Leader: Learning to Do What Matters Most, “Choosing the Right Drivers For Whole System Reform.” In addition, the conference offers over forty breakout sessions facilitated by keynote presenters and practitioners from across the Commonwealth.
