Department of Education
March 16, 2012
TO: Division Superintendents
FROM: Patricia I. Wright, Superintendent of Public Instruction
This communication is to inform you of revisions to the 2011-2012 Title I, Part A, and Title I, Part D, allocations that were released through Superintendent’s Memorandum Number 257-11, dated September 16, 2011. The revisions to the 2011-2012 funding allocations for Title I, Part A, and Title I, Part D, are the net effect of a decrease based on PL 112-33, the Continuing Appropriation Act, 2012, and an increase of funding based on PL 112-74, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2012, approved by Congress.
Attachment A contains a spreadsheet that shows the revised allocations. The allocations for Title I, Part A, decreased for all school divisions and the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind due to the revision. The allocations for Title I, Part D, Subpart 2, have increased due to a redistribution of funds based on the closure of one facility. An amendment to your 2011-2012 application and a budget transfer must be submitted through the OMEGA system. If you need technical support with this process, please e-mail OMEGA.Support@doe.virginia.gov or call (804) 371-0993.
