The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce the English Language Arts Enhanced Scope and Sequence Sample Lesson Plans for grades K-12 and the Science Enhanced Scope and Sequence Sample Lesson Plans for grades K-6, Life Science, Physical Science, Earth Science, Biology, and Chemistry have been posted.
The purpose of these resources is to help teachers align instruction with the 2010 English Standards of Learning (SOL) and the 2010 Science Standards of Learning (SOL) by providing examples of how the knowledge, skills, and processes found in the SOL and Curriculum Framework can be presented to students in the classroom. The English Language Arts Enhanced Scope and Sequence is posted by strand featuring a drop-down menu with the titles of each of the lessons. The Science Enhanced Scope and Sequence is posted by strand for grades K-6 and by topic for Life Science, Physical Science, Earth Science, Biology, and Chemistry, and features drop-down menus for each strand and topic with the title of each of the lessons.
