This is to inform you that the following information was conveyed by the Virginia Department of Education’s Office of School Improvement to superintendents in divisions with schools rated Accredited with Warning or Provisionally Accredited-Graduation RateAttachment A contains the list of schools rated Accredited with Warning or Provisionally Accredited-Graduation Rate.

Schools Accredited with Warning or Provisionally Accredited-Graduation Rate must have an on-site academic review.  There are two parts to the on-site Academic Review Process.  In part one, the division must assign a school support team leader and school support team members.  These individuals will serve on the academic review team to help conduct the on-site academic review in the school’s first year of warning.  In part two, the division’s school support team will monitor the school improvement plan for a minimum of three years.  An overview of the Academic Review Process for all schools can be found at this Web site:  http://www.doe.virginia.gov/support/school_improvement/academic_reviews/index.shtml.
