The 2014 General Assembly approved House Bill 758 (Delegate Thomas Davis Rush, chief patron) that will amend and re-enact Section 22.1-298.1 of the Code of Virginia regarding initial licensing in the area of career and technical education. The legislation will become effective July 1, 2014.

§ 6. Every teacher seeking initial licensure with an endorsement in the area of career and technical education shall have an industry certification credential in the area in which the teacher seeks endorsement.
