The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce the official Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Virginia Championship competition, sponsored by Certiport, a Pearson VUE Business. Six state champions, one per exam track, will be chosen to represent Virginia at the MOS U. S. National Championship competition in Orlando, Florida, June 18-20, 2015. This competition is in conjunction with the Virginia Microsoft IT Academy program.
To participate in the MOS Virginia State Championship and qualify to compete at the MOS U. S. National Championship, students must pass one of the following exams by May 1, 2015:
The student who earns the highest passing score will be named the 2015 MOS Virginia State Champion in their exam track. If two or more students achieve the same high score, the exam taken in the least amount of time will win. The state champion will receive a Microsoft Surface and a certificate. They will also be invited to compete at the MOS U. S. National Championship. Second and third place state winners will receive a Microsoft prize package and a certificate. There is no limit to the number of times a student may take an eligible MOS exam, as long as the student follows the exam retake policy. The school’s IT Academy exams used for this purpose will be replaced by Certiport and Microsoft as needed. The winners will be announced, awards will be disbursed, and invitations to the U. S. National Championship will be extended during the month of May.
