The Virginia Department of Education, in cooperation with the Southern Region Education Board (SREB), is pleased to offer four one-day workshops focusing on Counseling for Careers. Counseling for Careers is an organized structure that connects students to a career goal, as well as a high school and postsecondary program of study–all necessary for acquiring the knowledge and skills to succeed. Counseling for Careers provides a set of learning experiences that enables students to create a meaningful vision for a successful future and the program of study for achieving that vision.

The four regional workshops are scheduled as follows:
November 18 – Culpeper County – Eastern View High School
November 20 – Botetourt County – Greenfield Education and Training Center
December 8 – Cumberland County – Luther P. Jackson Education Center
December 10 – Williamsburg/James City County – Warhill High School
School divisions are invited to send a team of up to five participants to the workshop, including teachers, administrators, and at least one school counselor. The SREB trainer, workshop materials, and lunch will be provided by the Virginia Department of Education. Pre-registration is required for the division team and must be completed online by November 9, 2015.
