SUBJECT: Federal and State Labor Laws for Youth Work-Based Learning

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), in collaboration with the University of Virginia Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, has developed a guide to Federal and State Labor Laws for Youth Work-Based Learning (PDF) experiences.  This resource compares federal and state labor laws for nonagricultural and agricultural occupations, parental exemption, and prohibited and hazardous occupations as they relate to youth work-based learning.
