Practical Nursing Directors and Instructors Annual Professional Development Update
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), in collaboration with the Virginia Board of Nursing (VBON) and the health care industry, will conduct the Practical Nursing Directors and Instructors Professional Development Annual Update on Monday, July 17, 2017, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at The Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg, Virginia. All program directors and instructors of secondary education, community college, and private school programs, including clinical and substitute instructors, are encouraged to attend.
The update will be provided in two sessions:
- 8 a.m to noon Infusion Care Services will provide infusion therapy training techniques for teaching students. This session will be interactive.
12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Working Lunch (provided)
1 to 4 p.m. The VBON will review the regulation changes and provide technical assistance.
There is no registration fee; however, online preregistration is required and must be completed by June 15, 2017. The VDOE will provide the trainer and instructional resource materials. Participants are responsible for all travel-related expenses and lodging, if needed. For public high school program directors and instructors this is an allowable expenditure of federal Perkins funds as long as it is included in the approved local career and technical education plan.
