Race to GED® Grant Application 2017-2018
The Virginia General Assembly has provided state funding in the amount of $1,945,613 for fiscal year 2018 (July 1, 2017-June 30, 2018) to school divisions for approved regional adult education programs. The Race to GED® funds are to be used to (1) increase High School Equivalency (HSE) testing capacity (with the approved GED® test); (2) provide additional instruction or supplemental academic support for adult learners to prepare for the HSE test; or (3) implement outreach activities to adults who lack a secondary education credential. The application packet-This is a Word document. (Word) is located on the Virginia Department of Education website.
The Race to GED® grant program is available through the Virginia Lottery funds. School divisions and entities that operate a regional adult education program in partnership with a school division are eligible to apply for these funds.
An original grant application must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org and two paper copies mailed to:

Both electronic and paper applications must be received no later than 4 p.m., June 22, 2017. Applications not meeting the delivery deadline may not be considered.
