Biography: Eleanor B. Saslaw
Eleanor B. Saslaw of Springfield was appointed to the Board of Education in 2004 by Governor Mark R. Warner and was reappointed in 2008 by Governor Timothy M. Kaine.
Mrs. Saslaw became board president in 2010 and is the chairwoman of the board's Committee on the Standards of Quality.
Mrs. Saslaw retired in 2004 after a 35-year career in public education. She served as a school counselor and director of student services in four Fairfax County public schools and taught social studies and mathematics in Maryland.
