Establishing Substitute Test for Standards of Learning World Geography Test

WHEREAS, 8 VAC 20-131-110 of the Standards for Accrediting Public Schools in Virginia permits the Board of Education to approve tests to substitute for Standards of Learning tests, and
WHEREAS, the Accountability Advisory Committee supports this recommendation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education that the Advanced Placement Human Geography tests be permitted as a substitute for SOL World Geography test. A score of two on the Advanced Placement Human Geography test is required for a student to be classified as "Proficient" and a score of three is required on the Advanced Placement Human Geography test for the student to be classified as "Advanced."
