Revised Version of "Accountability and Virginia Public Schools"
The 2012-2013 edition of “Accountability and Virginia Public Schools” has been revised to delete outdated content that was inadvertently included in the version distributed to school divisions last week. The revised version of Accountability & Virginia Public Schools is available on the VDOE Web site.
Accountability and Virginia Public Schools provides an overview of the Standards of Learning accountability program with detailed but relatively jargon-free descriptions of how state assessment results are used to determine state school accreditation ratings and to measure student progress toward the Board of Education’s new annual measurable objectives in reading and mathematics under ESEA. It also includes a glossary of accountability terminology and an FAQ on schools receiving “Accreditation Denied” ratings.
