Mathematics K-5 Professional Development: July 23 or July
24, 2008 |
The Virginia
Department of Education will be hosting two one-day professional development
opportunities, “Elementary Mathematics Number and Number Sense Module Training”
to be conducted on July 23 and July 24, 2008, at The Hotel Roanoke and
The training will
begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. with registration beginning at
7:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided. There will be six break out sessions for teachers
of grades K-5 with fifty spaces available each day.
Registration – Registration for the Elementary
Mathematics Number and Number Sense Module training on July 23 or 24, 2008,
will be conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be completed
online at http://www.cpe.vt.edu/reg/mathmodules/
beginning May 5, 2008. The deadline for
registration is June 6, 2008.
Lodging - Lodging costs for participants traveling more than 75 miles
to the site of the training will be funded by the Department of Education at
current state rates. The Department encourages school division teams to share
rooms at the facility on a double occupancy basis where appropriate. Room
reservations must be made by June 26, 2008, by calling The Hotel Roanoke and
Parking – Parking costs must be paid by the training participants or
their school division.
