To comply with state law and to prepare a report for the governor and General Assembly, local school boards are required to report annually the number of public charter school applications that were granted or denied, the reasons for such denials and whether the charter was designed to increase the educational opportunities of at-risk students.

To meet General Assembly provisions for reallocating unused student slots in regional alternative education programs and distribute unused student slots to requesting divisions, school divisions serving as the fiscal agent for alternative education programs must provide information on the number of unused student slots.
