CBLO - Community Based Literacy Organizations
Community Based Literacy Organizations (CBLO) provide support for the work of private, not-for-profit literacy organizations that offer tutoring and other one-on-one or small group instructional approaches delivered primarily by volunteers. Priorities include low-level literacy instruction, English for Speakers of Other Languages instruction (ESOL), workforce development,and family literacy.Accountability
Funding & Reports
The Office of Adult Education makes funds available for grants to support adult basic education and literacy workforce development activities. Funding is provisional and dependent on passage of a new Congressional budget and approval of the OAEL state plan. Additional state funds are used to supplement federal grants.
