Pool of Teachers for Finance Course
While multiple options exist, the Economics and Personal Finance course (6120-36 weeks) in the business curriculum meets all the economics and personal finance standards of learning. Some school divisions are using the BUS6120 course to meet the required instruction; however, there have been concerns expressed about the availability of teachers. The endorsement codes a teacher must hold on a license to teach the Economics and Personal Finance course have been expanded. See Expanded Pool of Teachers for Finance Course (PDF).Economics Education & Financial Literacy Videos
To ensure that teachers of history/social science, career and technical education and mathematics have access to instruction in the content delineated in the objectives, VDOE has produced a series of 35 videos. Each video highlights a part of the content and are between 10 and 20 minutes long. Presenters in the vignettes are teachers, practitioners or university professors.Training Opportunities for Economics Education & Financial Literacy
