Energy in Virginia
The Virginia Department of Education, in partnership with the Dominion Foundation and the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project developed a curriculum guide to support the energy-related Grade Six Science Standards of Learning (PDF). The NEED Project offered workshops throughout the commonwealth in which teachers received the Energy in Virginia curriculum guide and the materials necessary to support effective science instruction.
The following curriculum guide and supporting materials were shared with teachers during the workshops. It is important for all grade six science teachers to have access to these high quality materials. Please contact Science@doe.virginia.gov or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about the Energy in Virginia initiative.

2016 Dominion 6th-Grade Virginia Energy Education Workshop
Funded through a grant from the Dominion Foundation
About two dozen teachers participated in the Virginia Energy Education Workshop on October 20 at the Dominion Safety and Training Center in Chester. Presented in partnership with VDOE, the workshop provided hands-on experiences and activities aligned with the Science Standards of Learning for teachers to take directly to their classrooms.
