Online Provider Application
Applications for the 2013-2014 school year may be submitted beginning January 2, 2013. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on February 1, 2013.
An application must be completed by each provider seeking approval to become a multidivision online provider. Applications must include all the information requested by the Virginia Department of Education and in the form and by the date requested. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The Virginia Department of Education will provide the applicant with a written decision regarding the approval or denial of the application within 45 business days of the close of the application period.
Providers will be approved generally, but each course they wish to provide must be aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) and Career and Technical Education Competencies where applicable. Course titles must include the SOL or CTE Competency. For each approved provider, a list of approved courses will also be made available. Previously approved providers may choose to submit additional courses for approval during the application window.
Local school boards in Virginia, if they so desire, may enter into contracts with any approved multidivision online provider to provide approved, courses. Elective courses may also be provided if there are no Virginia standards or competencies for the subject.
