New Directors' Academy

New Director’s Academy Phase I – onsite introduction to the school nutrition programs in Virginia. This workshop is conducted each fall for newly appointed directors and supervisors with overall program responsibility. Onsite visit is conducted by the assigned school nutrition program specialist. New Director's Academy Phase II - orientation to overall program management and the responsibilities of the school nutrition program director. This workshop is offered annually in Richmond for all new school nutrition program directors and supervisors. (804) 225-2082.
New Director's Academy Phase III - follow-up orientation for all school nutrition directors who participated in Phase I and II. This workshop offers participants an opportunity to discuss specific issues in their school nutrition program. (804) 225-2082.

Managers' Workshops - On the Journey to Quality Management Practices for School Nutrition Managers
On the Journey to Quality Management Practices is the theme for annual workshops on specific content areas conducted by VDOE for school nutrition program managers. The workshops are offered throughout the state from July through late August. Registration is required. Workshop flyers are distributed to all school nutrition directors for managers in their division. For further information, contact the school nutrition program specialist assigned to your region.
Regional Meetings
School Nutrition Programs conducts fall and spring meetings each school year for local program directors and supervisors. Meetings are held regionally with the assigned specialist as the facilitator. For information please check with your VDOE regional contact.
