RICHMOND — The state Board of Education will meet on Wednesday, August 17, for a business meeting, work session and executive session that were postponed last month.
The Code of Virginia requires that a quorum of the nine-member board be physically present for the board to transact business. Board of Education President Dan Gecker postponed the July meetings after only four members — one short of the required five — said that they could attend in person.
