Internship Program for students in grades 10-12 |
The Senate
Clerks Office is offering Virginia students in grades 10-12 an opportunity to
participate in the Senate of Virginias Online Internship Program. This program
allows students to research issues that are or may come before Virginias State
lawmakers. Students whose teachers have enrolled in the program may select a
public policy issue that may be presented to the General Assembly. The student
will research the topic and prepare a two-page research paper. The teacher will
then e-mail the paper to the Virginia State Legislative Information Office.
Senators and their legislative staff will have access to the papers.
Teachers with
students wishing to enroll in the program should contact the Virginia Senate
Legislative Information Office by e-mail at information@sov.state.va.us or
call (804) 698-7410. The toll free number is (888) 892-6948. Confirmation of
enrollment will be sent to the teachers via e-mail.
