2003 Summer
Institutes for Social Studies Teachers |
The Center for Civic Education will
conduct summer institutes at James Madison University that focus on the
Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
The Third Annual We the People Virginia
Summer Institute for
secondary teachers will be held July 18-25, 2003. For additional information

Applications should be submitted by April 25, 2003.
Two sessions are offered for elementary
teachers: July 7-15, 2003, and July 20-28, 2003. These institutes are open to
elementary teachers from all states. Contact Susan Roe at 1-800-350-4223 or

for additional information and applications. Applications should be submitted
by April 11, 2003.
There is no cost for the programs. Room
and board plus reimbursement of travel expenses will be provided. In addition,
participants will receive a classroom set of textbooks and an opportunity to
earn graduate credit (optional, fee to be paid by participant or their school).
