as the primary computing device have been developed and will be presented in
three regional workshops around the state. Computer Mathematics is a
board-approved course above the level of algebra and geometry and can be used to
satisfy the mathematics requirements for a standard diploma.
The dates and times for the workshops are as

10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
August
14, 2003 - Richmond at the Holiday Inn Koger Center, 8 a.m. - 12 noon
August 15, 2003 - Roanoke at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood,

Schools are invited to send teachers who have some programming experience and familiarity with the TI-83+ graphing calculator. Workshop capacity at each site is limited and will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants may register by e-mailing Deborah Kiger Lyman with participants name, school, school division, and contact information. Directions to each site will be provided upon registration. Each participant is responsible for bringing a laptop with Word 2000 and a CD-ROM drive as well as a TI-83+ (or Silver Edition) graphing calculator to the workshop.
