SUBJECT:	Americas Legislators Back to School Week September 17-21,2007

This memorandum provides information regarding the efforts of the Virginia House of Delegates Legislative Education and Development Office (LEAD) to promote Americas Legislators Back to School Week Program sponsored by the National Conference of State Legislatures. The official House of Delegates participation period will be September 17-21, 2007. The program is a national civics program designed to educate young citizens about the legislative process and build links between schools and legislators. This is an opportunity to improve students knowledge of government, and build public trust and confidence in government. We hope that your teachers schedules will allow them to participate in this vital civic educational program.
