| SUBJECT: | Information on K-3 Initiative |
Information is being requested on the attached form in order for the Department of Education to compute the entitlements for each school division participating in the K-3 initiative. The actual K-3 enrollment as of September 30, 1996, the number of classroom teachers (FTE) and resource teachers (FTE) must be indicated. Please be sure to answer the questions, sign the form, and return it to Mrs. June Eanes, Budget Director, no later than October 25, 1996. The form may be faxed to Mrs. Eanes at (804) 225-2300. After all forms have been returned and the information has been compiled, 50% of the entitlement will be issued on an EFT to school divisions in November. The final 50% payment will be made in the spring. A report must be provided to the Board of Education, the Chairmen of the House Education, House Appropriations, House Finance, Senate Education and Health, and Senate Finance Committees by December 1, 1996.
