SUBJECT: Estimated Title VI Allocations for the 1997-98 School Year

  
  The Virginia Department of Education has been notified of an
  estimated allocation of $6,903,342 for Innovative Education
  Program Strategies, Title VI of the Improving America's
  Schools Act of 1994.  The U.S. Department of Education has
  advised that the allocation amount is an estimate;
  therefore, it may change.  

  The attached table of estimated entitlements shows the local
  distribution of formula funds for Innovative Education
  Program Strategies for the 1997-98 school year.  Please use
  the estimated entitlements for program planning purposes,
  and in developing your application.  

  Questions regarding the attached allocation table should be
  directed to Dr. Marie Spriggs Jones, Specialist, or Mr.
  George H. Irby, Sr., Director,  Office of Compensatory
  Programs, at (804) 371-8973.
