Virginia Interagency Coordinating Council (VICC) Survey
Previous Early Intervention/Preschool Services |
Enclosed with this memorandum is a copy of a survey about Previous Early Intervention/Preschool Services. It was developed by a subcommittee of the Virginia Interagency Coordinating Council (VICC), the state advisory council for the Part H system of services for zero (0) to two (2) year olds. Its purpose is to determine the reasons a child might be identified by a local school division as having a disability without ever having received early intervention services. The information gathered will assist localities in their child find efforts. Your cooperation is critical in this effort. A copy of the survey has also been provided to your special education supervisor. The survey should be completed by the person in your division who makes the initial contact with the parents of young children referred for early childhood special education services. As a contributor you will receive a copy of the complied data for your division. If you have questions, please contact David Mills at the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse at(804) 371-6593 or Linda Bradford at the Virginia Department of Education at (804) 225-2675. Your assistance in providing this data is greatly appreciated. RTL/lsb Enclosures: A hard copy of the memo and its attachment will be sent to the superintendent's office. cc: Special Education Supervisors
