SUBJECT: | General Adult Education (GAE) Applications for 1997-98 |
The General Assembly has appropriated $1,051,800 for reimbursement of the General Adult Education Program for fiscal year 1997-1998. Eligible classes for reimbursement for fiscal year 1997-98 include Adult High School classes for credit, General Educational Development (GED) Preparatory, Americanization, and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Reimbursement will be based on 60% of the fixed cost-per-class or fixed cost-per-student-slot (External Diploma Program only). To assist you in initiating your General Adult Education Program for fiscal year 1997-98, copies of the forms to be used in submitting your Program Application for General Adult Education and a copy of "Instructions for Preparing Program Application and Request for Reimbursement for General Adult Education Program" have been attached. Please submit your application no later than May 30, 1997. If no program is planned, write on the face of the form your school division and division code and "NO PROGRAM PLANNED."
