SUBJECT:	Increase in Fee for GED Testing

  As of July 1, l997 the fee for the GED examination in
  Virginia will increase to $35.00 per battery, and $7.00 per
  individual subtest.  Substantial increases in the cost of
  leasing GED test materials and additional requirements for
  test security have necessitated this increase.

  Your cooperation is requested in informing LAGEDAS (Local
  Administrators of GED Applications), adult educaton
  administrators, and GED Chief Examiners of this important
  change.  Questions should be directed to Dr. Patricia
