SUBJECT: Release of SAT-I, PSAT, and AP Test Results

  
  On Tuesday, August 26, 1997, The College Board released
  results of the most recent SAT-I, PSAT and AP tests.  The
  results contain information about the performance of
  Virginia's students and that of the nation.  Enclosed is a
  copy of the summary of these results prepared by the
  Division of Assessment and Reporting.  The College Board
  sends to each school and school division summaries of their
  performance in addition to the state and national results.  

  The Department of Education does not receive any local
  results from these tests.  Inquiries we receive regarding
  the performance of a particular school or school division
  will be directed to the designated Division Director of
  Testing.
