INFORMATIONAL

  Governor Allen is providing copies of the Standards of
  Learning to all parents and teachers in the Commonwealth. 
  These copies will be sent directly to the public schools
  throughout the state.  Schools should begin receiving these
  copies next week.  Some schools may have already begun to
  receive portions of this shipment since the contract printer
  is running ahead of schedule.

  I ask that you please inform your school principals that
  they will be receiving these copies and that they should
  please send them home with their students.  Due to the
  volume involved with this shipping, it is possible that a
  school may have their copies delivered over several days;
  however,  very large schools may have their copies delivered
  at one time by a trucking company.

  Please give this issue prompt attention so that your
  principals will know what to expect.  These copies are being
  provided at state expense and no payment is required by the
  schools or the school division.
