Superintendent of Public Instruction |
SUBJECT: | 1997-98 Annual School Report - Statistical Section |
The statistical section of the Annual School Report is being sent as a separate document from the financial section of the report for the 1997-98 school year. Statistical section reporting has been enhanced for 1997-98 by a change in Table 5, Age/Grade Distribution for All Original Entry Pupils (E1 and E2). For 1997-98, Table 5 should be submitted by division summary. School-level reporting by racial/ethnic breakdown is no longer required. The statistical tables should be completed and returned to the Department of Education no later than September 2, 1998. Early submission is encouraged. In addition to the statistical tables, the statistical section document includes the following: (1) detailed instructions for completing each of the tables, (2) worksheets, where applicable, to assist in the calculations and cross checking of data, (3) a list of edit procedures for your use in submitting data, and (4) a checklist to ensure that all the data are provided for the tables. These four items need not be returned to the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. The enclosed Annual School Report Statistical Section Division Transmittal form should be completed by the statistical section contact person and submitted with the statistical tables to the Department. The contact person designated for the statistical section of the Annual School Report will be responsible for coordinating and reporting the data, forwarding the statistical tables to the Department, and responding to questions concerning the data during the editing and verification processes. Listed on the transmittal form is the statistical section contact person for the 1996-97 reporting year; changes in this information may be noted on this form. The Office of Management Information Systems will request updates of information for various data systems, including the Annual School Report Statistical Section, in the School Administration (School ID) 1998-99 report in July 1998.
