SUBJECT:	Guidelines on the Recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance

  Section  22.1-202(B) of the Code of Virginia requires the
  Board of Education, in consultation with the Office of the
  Attorney General, to develop guidelines on constitutional
  rights and restrictions relating to the recitation of the
  pledge of allegiance to the American flag in public schools.

  At the December 16 meeting of the Board of Education, the
  attached Guidelines on the Recitation of the Pledge of
  Allegiance were adopted.  Should you have any questions, you
