| SUBJECT: | Adjustments to Basic Aid for the 1997-98 year |
Attached is a printout reflecting the various adjustments that must be made to Basic Aid for the 1997-98 year. These adjustments include the Summer Residential Governor's School, Foreign Language Academies, Mental Health/Mental Retardation transfer, the Electronic Classroom (VSEN) payment, overpayment of Group Life Insurance, and tuition payment for the Deaf/Blind Schools. The overpayment to Group Life Insurance is because the Department made one payment at the beginning of the year instead of monthly payments throughout the year. Since the General Assembly declared a holiday for the last two months of the year, we need to recover the amounts related to the last payment you would get this year. The second month's payment would have been made as the special July fringe benefit rollover payment. The total adjustment will be made in May to Basic Aid.
