SUPTS. MEMO. NO. 147
October 9, 1998 |
TO: | Division Superintendents |
FROM: | Paul D. Stapleton
Superintendent of Public Instruction |
SUBJECT: | Initial Verification of 1997 School Performance Report Card Data |
Information sent by school divisions to the Department of Education as part of the School Performance Report Card (SPRC) and the school Certification of Pre-Accreditation Eligibility report will be returned soon to school divisions for correction and/or verification. The SPRC data were to be reported to the Department on Sept. 18, 1998, as requested in Supts. Memo #21, dated May 15, 1998. The teacher endorsement data on page 1, Attachment A, of the Certification of Pre-Accreditation Eligibility report, were to be submitted by July 31, 1998, as requested in Supts. Memo #38, dated June 26, 1998. The SPRC data collection contains only the information used in the SPRC that could not be obtained from other department reports. Materials to complete the verification process will be sent directly to your designated SPRC contact person. The SPRC contact will receive the data for each school with specific instructions for verification and/or correction. These materials will be sent to school divisions over the next few weeks. SPRC contact persons will be instructed to review the data, make corrections as necessary, and return corrections and verifications to the Department of Education. The verification form requires the signature of the division superintendent. This memo is to alert superintendents to this impending correction/verification activity. This is the first step in the development of the first School Performance Report Card, scheduled for release in January 1999. Should you have questions regarding this part of the SPRC process, please contact Cathy Learnard at (804) 786-5787 or Dan Keeling at (804) 371-2769. PDS/jc
