SUPTS. MEMO. NO. 46
March 5, 1999 |
TO: | Division Superintendents |
FROM: | Paul D. Stapleton
Superintendent of Public Instruction |
SUBJECT: | Update on Video Library |
This is to advise you that the Department of Education is updating its Video Library registration data to ensure your schools have continued access to our video resources. We are asking each of your schools to return a simple registration form, indicating changes from our current records. We also are contacting any schools not currently registered with us to provide them with a brief description of our services and a registration form. We have made a change in our video duplication procedures in an effort to make the use of the duplication center more convenient for your schools. It is no longer necessary to provide a blank tape for duplication, we will supply the tape. The new fees for public schools, which include the tape, are: $5 for the first program and $2 for each additional program on the same tape. For your information, we also provide these services to private schools and other educational agencies. Nonpublic school fees are: $8 for the tape and first program and $5 for each additional program on the same tape. The fees for the Video Loan Library remain unchanged, at $2 per title for public schools and $5 for all others. The library is continually being upgraded with new material. This is particularly true of the Driver Education section, which was previously administered by the Division of Motor Vehicles. For additional information refer to the Department of Education home page, www.pen.k12.va.us or call Jon Petersen at (804) 225-2973. PDS/emt
