SUBJECT:	Conformance of the Social Studies SOL Tests to the Social Studies Teacher Resource Guide

It has come to our attention that there is perhaps 
erroneous information in the field regarding the degree to 
which the SOL Social Studies tests will match the recently 
released teacher resource guide.  Let me assure you that 
the Division of Assessment and Reporting has reviewed all 
of the items in the current social studies item bank for 
their conformance to the teacher resource guide and has 
removed those that do not match.  The SOL Social Studies 
tests administered hereafter beginning with the fall 1999 
test administration will adhere to the teacher resource 
guide.
