SUBJECT: 1999-2000 Annual School Report Statistical Section

 The Annual School Report Statistical Section for the 1999-2000 school year should 
be completed and returned to the Department of Education no later than 
September 15, 2000.  Early submission is encouraged.

The statistical section of the Annual School Report for the 1999-2000 school year 
has been revised to include truancy data mandated by the 1999 General Assembly and 
the summer 2000 average daily attendance data (refer to Informational Supts. Memo 
No. 68 dated March 31, 2000).  These revisions include the following division-level 

· A truancy report of the number of students with whom a conference was scheduled 
  after each of the students had accumulated six absences;

· A report of the aggregate days attendance (days present) and the average daily 
  attendance (ADA).

The Annual School Report Statistical Section (ASRSTAT) can only be submitted in 
Excel spreadsheet or ASCII flat file formats.

A custom-designed Annual School Report Statistical Section (ASRSTAT) spreadsheet 
can be downloaded from the Department of Education's website at 
by selecting "Reports" at the top of the homepage or "Data and Publications" at the 
bottom and then selecting "Collection of the 1999-2000 Annual School Report 
Statistical Section." The complete address is to access the ASRSTAT 
spreadsheet.  Excel 97 or later versions should be used to complete the ASRSTAT 
spreadsheet. Detailed instructions for completing and submitting the report are 

File layouts are attached for those school divisions that prefer to submit the 
ASRSTAT data as an ASCII flat file. 

Information on the contact person for the 1999-2000 ASRSTAT is required.  In the 
Excel spreadsheet, contact information can be updated on the contact worksheet.  
For those submitting an ASCII flat file, contact information is requested in the 
header record. 

Each contact person for the ASRSTAT report should coordinate the collection of the 
data for the division and submit the data by e-mail to by the 
due date.
