SUBJECT: | Fiscal Year 2000 Entitlements Based on March 31, 2000 Average Daily Membership (ADM) |
Administrative Supts. Memo. No. 8 dated March 10, 2000, required you to report average daily membership (ADM) as of March 31, 2000. The attached printout reflects your final entitlements based on this ADM. Only those accounts affected by ADM are shown. Please note the following when reviewing this attachment. 1. The sales tax estimates are the amounts used to compute basic aid for fiscal year 2000. Actual receipts on a cash and accrual basis will be sent to school divisions with the Annual School Report data in early August. 2. The cash basis for fringe benefits are the actual amounts you will receive during fiscal year 2000. The accrued amounts will be sent to school divisions with the Annual School Report data in early August. 3. Actual ADM for fiscal year 2000 exceeded the estimates used to develop the state budget. As a result, basic aid has been prorated at 99.81 percent. If funds are identified prior to the close of the fiscal year that may be used to offset part or all of this proration, an additional payment will be sent to school divisions. 4. Since ADM exceeded the estimates used in the budget, distribution of lottery funds must also be prorated because the distributions are based on a fixed appropriation. Consequently, lottery distributions are prorated at 99.8575 percent of the original per pupil amount and the lottery prior year revenue payment is prorated at 99.959 percent of the original per pupil amount. If you have any questions concerning this information, please call Ms. June Eanes, budget director, or Ms. Doris West, senior budget analyst, at (804) 225-2025. JLD:je Attachment
