SUBJECT: Minute of Silence
Senate Bill 209, passed by the 2000 General Assembly, requires the school board of each school division to establish the daily observance of a minute of silence in each classroom. The law becomes effective on July 1, 2000.
Attached is a memorandum to superintendents and public school principals that provides guidance for implementing the new legislation. Copies of this memorandum and the attachment are being sent to all public school principals.
