SUBJECT: School Resource Officer Facts Book
  The Department of Education is pleased to cooperate with the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) in providing you with a copy of a new DCJS report entitled, School Resource Officer Facts.

This report is based on a DCJS canvass of law enforcement agencies and is designed to be a reference guide to Virginia's School Resource Officer (SRO) Programs. It contains information about the geographical location, number of positions, operational age, and law enforcement affiliation. Names and phone numbers of program managers are also included. Further, the report provides information on the 427 SROs that were identified through the canvass by including their law enforcement and SRO experiences, 1999-2000 school assignments, formal training, and their names and phone numbers.

Individual copies may be obtained by completing the attached order form. The report can also be downloaded from the DCJS website: www.dcjs.state.va.us.
