Educational Facility Planners Conference February 25-26, 2002 |
Attached is a
brochure describing the Virginia Educational Facility Planners (VEFP)
Conference that the Department of Education is co-sponsoring with Virginia
Polytechnic Institute and State University (VPI & SU) Division of
Continuing Education at the Hotel Roanoke on February 25-26, 2002. There will be a two-day interactive workshop
on facilities and planning.
The conference
provides a two-day interactive workshop on school facilities and planning and
includes an exhibit of recent school projects completed in Virginia and a
distinguished jury to recognize the most successful projects. Plaques will be presented to the architects
and winning schools in four categories.
The registration fee includes a banquet on Monday evening, a continental
breakfast on Tuesday morning, and a lunch on Tuesday. If you wish to stay at the hotel on Monday night, the conference
rate is $59 plus tax.
A business
meeting of VEFP is scheduled at the luncheon on Tuesday. This organization, now
a chapter of the Council of Educational Facility Planners, Southeast Region,
wants input from school divisions on future programs and meeting locations. I
hope you or someone from your staff will attend and express your needs to the
VEFP Board of Trustees and will participate in the election of new officers for
the coming year.
Please
register directly with VPI & SU for the conference and/or room using the
form in the attached brochure. If you
have questions about the program, please call David L. Boddy, associate
director, Support Services at (804) 225-2035.
