K-3 Primary
Class Size Reduction Program Entitlements for Fiscal Years 2002, 2003, and
2004 |
Updated
fiscal year 2002 entitlements for the K-3 primary class size reduction program
have been calculated using September 30, 2001, fall membership, final program
participation data, and a reduced Virginia Retirement System (VRS) employer
contribution rate of 3.6 percent (based upon preliminary actions by the General
Assembly and Governor). Attachment A shows the entitlements for each school
division by school. Other data elements shown include the composite index of
local ability-to-pay, free lunch eligibility percentage, funded pupil-teacher
ratio, funded per pupil amounts, and the numbers of students funded based on
September 30, 2001, fall membership. Please note that actual payment totals
will not be final until action on the state budget is completed. Semi-monthly
payments to school divisions for the K-3 program for fiscal year 2002 will
begin with the March 16, 2002, payment. If adjustments are needed following the
General Assembly's final action on the budget, you will be notified by another
Superintendent's Memorandum.
Updated
projections for fiscal years 2003 and 2004 are provided in Attachments B and C.
These amounts will be updated based on final fall membership, program
participation data, and other required adjustments each year. Fiscal years 2003
and 2004 payments are subject to final General Assembly action.

attachments are also available in a single Excel file at the following address:
