Technical Assistance Forum for Human Resources Professionals and Teacher
Licensure Representatives |
The Virginia
Department of Education (VDOE), in cooperation with the Virginia Association of
School Personnel Administrators (VASPA), is pleased to provide you with
registration materials and highlights of a program agenda for the 2002 Spring
Drive-in Technical Assistance Forum.
The target audience for this forum includes a human resources
professional and a teacher licensure specialist from each school division. The jointly sponsored forum will be held in
lieu of the annual spring job fair and conference.
The forum
will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2002, at the Sheraton Richmond West
Hotel, 6624 West Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia. The agenda will feature a full day of concurrent sessions led by
Department of Education personnel and human resources professionals from school
divisions throughout Virginia. The
format of the sessions is designed to provide participants with information about
hot topics in the human resources area, including compensation plans and
benefits, self-assessment of technology skills for supervisors and teachers,
best practices in performance evaluations, and technical assistance in
licensing instructional personnel. The
Honorable Phillip A. Hamilton, member of the Virginia General Assembly, will
present highlights, achievements and implications of the 2002 General Assembly
Legislative Session. Immediately
following the forum, a business session will be held for the VASPA membership
that will include the election of officers for the 2002-2003 year.
