2001 (NCLB), the Department of Education is implementing a new Spring Student
Records Data Collection for the 2003-2004 school year. Informational Supts.
Memo No. 75, dated May 2, 2003, included specific information regarding the
student record collection and reporting timeframes.
The 2003-2004 Spring
Student Records Data Collection should reflect students records as of March
31, 2004, and will include:
March 31, 2004,
average daily membership (ADM) data. The report will not replace the March
31, 2004, ADM report submitted to the Budget Office for the 2003-2004 school
year, but will be submitted in conjunction with the March 31 ADM report.
Annual Gifted and
Talented report. The data requested for
the annual gifted and talented report will include the number of
students who are identified as gifted by specific program area, by grade, and
by ethnicity.
Public School Choice
and Supplemental Educational Services Providers (SESP) data. A web-based data entry form will be
available only for divisions that have schools identified for Title I School
Improvement to enter the number of students transferred under school
choice, the number of transfers unable to be honored, the number of schools
receiving transferred students, and the number of students each SESP is serving
by subject area.
A
detailed listing of the data elements on the student record, the aggregate data
collected on the Web-based form, and instructions for completing and submitting
the data can be found on the Virginia Department of Educations website at
http://www.pen.k12.va.us/VDOE/Publications/student-spr/datacoll/sprcoll.html.
