Phase II Workshops
for Algebra Readiness Diagnostic Test Contacts and Teachers |
This summer
the Virginia Department of Education will sponsor four regional informational
and training workshops related to the Algebra Readiness Initiative. The Phase
II workshops will focus on the continued use of the Algebra Readiness
Diagnostic Test (ARDT) as a tool for use in the Algebra Readiness Initiative.
Participants
experienced in the use of ARDT will be able to refine their understanding of
algebra readiness through sessions on data analysis, intervention models, ARDT
updates, and a question and answer session with representatives from Vantage
Learning, publishers of ARDT, and the Virginia Department of Education.
Participants
new to the program will be able to attend a pre-session attached to each of the
four workshops to learn the basics of using the Algebra Readiness Diagnostic
Test. School divisions may send up to two participants to one of the four
regional workshops. The dates and

The workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the additional session for those new to the program from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Lunch will be provided. A copy of the program agenda is attached. Attached also is the registration form, due July 23, 2004.
