Opportunity: Medicaid and Schools |
The Virginia
Department of Education is pleased to announce a training opportunity in
Medicaid procedures for all school divisions.
The training will be held at the Holiday Inn Select Hotel in Lynchburg
on Tuesday, October 5, 7:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday, October
6, 2004, 7:30 a.m. - noon.
Topics to be
addressed are:

Health assistant services
-
Transportation services
-
Psychological services
-
Skilled nursing services
-
Audiology services
-
Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and
-
Speech-language pathology services
Training on
Tuesday regarding Medicaid documentation requirements is designed for
occupational, physical, and speech-language therapists, nurses, psychologists,
school social workers, audiologists, clinic aides, and special education aides.
Special education directors, special education supervisors, school nurse
coordinators, and school financial officers will also receive information on
how to implement and manage the Medicaid Billing Program. The DSM IV and Schools/Medicaid
documentation session is designed only for psychologists and social workers.
Certificates of Continuing Education may be earned for this session.
Training on
Wednesday is designed for new Medicaid service program administrators and
program administrators who would like additional training on the topics of
Medicaid supervision, administrative claiming to maximize school division
revenue, parental completion of consent forms, and record keeping.
The Virginia
Department of Education will provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon break
on Tuesday and breakfast only on Wednesday.
Participants will be responsible for their own lodging. There will be
exhibitors from 7:30 a.m. 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 7:30 a.m. 11 a.m. on
Wednesday.
