SUBJECT: |
Revision to 2004-2005 Title I, Part A, and Title I, Part D, Subpart 2, Entitlements under Provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Public Law 107-110 |
This communication is to inform you of revisions to the Title I, Part A, and Title I, Part D, allocations that were released in Superintendents Memorandum, Informational, Number 181, dated September 17, 2004. Funding allocations for both Title I, Part A, and Title I, Part D, were modestly affected by an adjustment made by the U.S. Department of Education (USED). The amounts withheld for the bypass for affected divisions also changed insignificantly.
The USED informed states that adjustments in allocations were due to substantial downward changes in the state per-pupil expenditure data recently submitted to USED by three states. Attachment A contains a spreadsheet that shows the revised allocation.
School divisions must submit an amendment to their 2004-2005 applications for Title I, Parts A and D. Please follow the 2004-2005 electronic amendment process. This budget revision can be included with any planned amendment. The form and instructions can be found at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Instruction/OCP/nclb-applications.html on the Virginia Department of Educations website.
If you have questions, please contact Mr. Kent Dickey, budget director, at 804-225-2025.
