State English: Writing Testing Schedule for 2005-2006 |
The State Testing Program schedule for the Standards
of Learning (SOL) English: Writing tests for the 2005-2006 school year is
available on the Department of Educations website at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Assessment/home.shtml.
Please inform all personnel of these testing dates so that other activities can
be scheduled without conflicts.
Following is information to assist you in preparing for the coming
school year.
The SOL
English: Writing tests for the fall 2005 administration are scheduled as
follows. The multiple-choice component
of the English: Writing tests will be administered on either Monday, October 17, or Tuesday, October 18,
2005. The direct writing component
of the English: Writing tests will be administered statewide on Wednesday, October 19, 2005. Students who are absent on the date of the
statewide writing test will respond to a different prompt during the make‑up
period. Graduating seniors who are
eligible for two opportunities to take the writing test will take the alternate
prompt on Thursday, October 20, 2005. Answer documents for the English: Writing tests must be shipped
for scoring by October 28, 2005.
The SOL
English: Writing tests for the spring 2006 administration are scheduled as
follows. The multiple-choice component of the English: Writing tests will be
administered on either March 6 or 7.
The direct writing component of the test must be administered statewide on Wednesday, March 8, 2006. Students who are absent on the date of the
statewide writing test will respond to a different prompt during the make-up
period. Graduating seniors who are
eligible for two opportunities to take the writing test will take the alternate
prompt on Thursday, March 9, 2006.
Answer documents for the English: Writing tests must be shipped for
scoring by March 24, 2006.
The SOL
writing test is to be administered statewide July 17-19, 2006. The
multiple-choice component of the English: Writing test should be administered
either on Monday, July 17, or Tuesday, July 18, 2006. The direct writing component of the English:
Writing test will be administered statewide on Wednesday, July 19, 2006.
Graduating seniors who are eligible for two opportunities to take the
writing test will take the alternate prompt on Thursday, July 20, 2006.
Answer documents for the English: Writing tests must be shipped for scoring by July
28, 2006.
Information
regarding testing schedules for all other SOL tests will be provided at a later
date.
